All In
We’re all in at Knollwood Church.
What does that mean?
Knollwood Church is a Christ-centered, mission-oriented, all-welcoming church family whose primary focus is to:
- Invest ourselves in the people of the city of Mobile in ways and places meaningful to them,
- Serve the disadvantaged and vulnerable in Jesus’ name, and
- Promote Christian knowledge through both the Scriptures and our actions.
To rise to these goals, our desire at Knollwood Church is to carry out the following:
Increase dramatically the number of people whose first contact with our church happens somewhere other than our church facility.
Create an atmosphere where everyone feels at home, embracing all God’s children and attracting mission-minded Christians to more fully participate in the life of the church.
Make available to children, youth, and adults opportunities for hands-on mission work as we:
- Focus on reaching out to the unchurched,
- Serve according to our gifts in purposeful ministry, and
- Move out into the community to meet the felt needs of our neighbors.
Develop programs supported by a commitment of human and financial resources that will lead to meaningful change in the lives of children, the elderly, and others who are disadvantaged and vulnerable.
Become a center for service and outreach to our members, our neighbors, and the extended community of God’s people around the world.
We are called to make a difference in people’s lives. Jesus calls us to be both salt and light to a world that remains in darkness:
“You are the SALT OF THE EARTH; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the LIGHT OF THE WORLD. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:13-16).
We’re all in!
