• NEW GROUP: THE BOOK OF JOHN BIBLE STUDY
Scott & Sandy Williams (Solid Rock Cafe–next to the gym)
Join in this inductive study on the book of John—line upon line, precept upon precept.
We’ll see why John’s Gospel is called “the Gospel of belief.” We’ll explore the seven “I
AMs” found in John and what they mean. There’s a profound description of Christ on the
cross that fulfills everything mentioned in the earlier chapters. We’ll learn to appreciate
the worldview that John seeks to impart to us in the writing of this book. It’s good stuff!
• WHAT YOU’LL WISH YOU KNEW IN 20 YEARS
Pastor Sharon Fruh (Parent-Child Room)
Pastor Sharon shares life lessons for young marrieds, single parents, and single adults—
lessons from her and Pastor Aaron’s experiences—life lessons about spiritual growth, re-
lationships, family, work, friends, and more. Twenty years from now, you’ll wish you’d
learned these lessons today. It’s time to start the new year off with some fresh insights!
• SCHOOL OF THE SPIRIT—CELEBRATING HIS GOODNESS
Gay Woods and Cindy McSwain (Room 114)
What’s happening in the School of the Spirit? We’re learning how to dig truth out of the
Word of God, learning how to stand with one another in difficult seasons, and learning
how to draw near to God as He draws near to us. We’ll start the new year by taking a look
back into 2011 to see where we’ve been, then look ahead to 2012 to embrace what God is
doing in our lives—of lasting value. Come and be blessed and become a blessing!
• THE BOOK OF JAMES BIBLE STUDY
Ed & Jani Blocher and Roy & Kelli Henderson (Room 204)
James has much to say about wisdom and trials. Is there a connection? He also teaches us
about the power of the tongue, faith and works, and perseverance. Come join us for lively
discussion and great fellowship. The Bible isn’t supposed to be this much fun—or is it?
• THE PARADOXES OF LIFE—“THE FIRST SHALL BE LAST…”
Brian Banashak and Bill Cohron (Room 111)
Conventional wisdom often leads us to the wrong conclusions about life and God. The
Scripture says, “The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.”In this interactive discussion we’ll look at paradoxes such as, “When I am weak, then I am strong” and many others. Come and be challenged as each member of the group contributes insights from their experience and from the Scriptures. Got meat?
• THE POWER OF PRAYER TO WIN THE LOST
Roney Navarro and Luvy Tobias (Room 203)
This class is taught in Tagalog—the Filipino language.
Jesus said, “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me
through their word, John 17:20.” Jesus prayed for lost souls—and we should too. Prayer
is a powerful weapon that breaks the yoke of darkness and releases the light of the Good
News to the lost. Join with this group of prayer warriors who are “gettin’ it done in God.”
• NEW MEMBER’S CLASS—ARE YOU “ALL IN”?
Dan Lipscomb (Library)
Come find out why members of Knollwood Church are “all in.” You’ll learn the basis for
what we believe and get to meet some of our church staff. It’s also a great way to learn
about the ministries at Knollwood and get connected to what God is doing in our church.
Call the church office at 661-8383 to sign up for this class.
• WORSHIP & CREATIVE ARTS “HANG OUT & TEA”
Jeff & Beth Reinert (Choir Room)
Calling all creative types, singers, musicians, and God seekers: Join us for a time of letting
your hair down, music talk, collaboration, creative expression, and whatever else perco-
lates to the surface. And yes, a cuppa herbal tea—I hear it’s good for the throat!
• EXPERIENCE HIGH SCHOOL—YOU’VE GOT ISSUES!
Shauna Madden (The Upper Room)
The book of James teaches us that faith must be alive and working. Active faith leads to
spiritual maturity. This shows up in the way we treat others, and how we use our time and
energy to serve God. Come join with us for a time of powerful prayer and discussion!
• EXPERIENCE MIDDLE SCHOOL—SLOGAN TRUTHS!
Deven Arnold (Room 200)
Come and experience God’s truth through the slogans of this generation. By using many
well-known slogans as topics, we’ll examine different proverbs throughout the Bible.
An important part of our small group ministry is breaking bread to-
gether. Ask your group leader about the date, time, and location of
the next fellowship meal. Don’t forget coffee & fellowship in the
church foyer from 9:00-9:30 A.M. Sunday mornings!
